Palüdbahn, Aerial lift in Brand, Austria

The Palüdbahn is a single-cable gondola lift at the end of the Brandnertal valley in Brand, Vorarlberg. Its 8-person cabins, built by Doppelmayr of Wolfurt, run from a valley station at 1070 m to a top station at 1608 m, a vertical gain of 538 m. The line was rebuilt in 2010 on a slightly altered route.

This lift opened in 2010, replacing an older chairlift that had previously served the area. The modern cabin system represented a major upgrade in the valley's mountain access infrastructure.

The lift system integrates into the winter sports heritage of Vorarlberg, supporting both local recreational activities and regional tourism development throughout the seasons.

The base station sits at 1070 m and the top station at 1608 m, a vertical gain of 538 m. The 2010 rebuild moved the valley station about 300 m down the valley, and the car park was enlarged to roughly 5220 m² for cars and buses. The lift is owned by Bergbahnen Brandnertal GmbH.

The name Palüd probably comes from the Latin palus, meaning marsh or fen, a reference to the wet ground at the end of the Brandnertal. The current lift was built by Doppelmayr of Wolfurt, while the two-seater chairlift it replaced in 2010 had been installed in 1969 by Steurer of Doren.
