Steyregg Bridge

Steyregg Bridge, Road bridge between Linz and Steyregg, Austria

The Steyregg Bridge crosses the Danube and connects two riverbanks. The structure extends approximately 450 meters and is supported by steel construction, with a distinctive A-shaped pylon rising prominently from the center.

Plans for a connection between Linz and Steyregg dated back to 1914, but were only realized decades later. The bridge was completed in 1979 after three years of intensive construction work.

The bridge links the industrial city of Linz with the residential area of Steyregg, facilitating daily movement between both sides of the Danube. It serves as a vital connection for commuters and locals who cross it regularly.

The bridge carries daily car traffic on the Donau Straße B3 and is essential for commuters crossing the river. Pedestrian access is possible from both sides, and the roadway accommodates two lanes in each direction.

The structure features five distinct openings with varying span widths across its length. This engineering solution efficiently handles the river crossing and the terrain below in a practical way.
