The Hügelgräberfeld Starzinger Holz spans four hectares of wooded area and contains 120 preserved burial mounds near the Naarn River.
Archaeological excavations between 1990 and 1992 revealed multiple burial types, including flat graves with depths ranging from 0.5 to 1.65 meters.
The burial mounds contain remains of both juveniles and children, along with ceramic vessels that indicate specific funeral practices of Bronze Age communities.
The site is accessible through marked forest paths between Neuhof village and Auhof Castle, with guided weekend tours available for visitors.
The burial mounds remain visible through airborne laser scanning, revealing their circular patterns despite centuries of forest growth.
