Villa Siegel stands on the southern shore of Lake Wörthersee and features a gable-front design with a lake-facing loggia beneath a steep hip roof. The building retains its original interior finishes from the construction period and sits along the Wörthersee South Shore Road that was built in 1899.
The building was created as the summer residence of composer Gustav Mahler, who occupied it from 1900 to 1907. During these years, Mahler completed his Fourth Symphony here and worked on sections of his Eighth Symphony.
The property includes a separate composing house with a work desk, grand piano, bookcase, and stove where Mahler carried out his creative work. This space reveals how the composer conducted his daily artistic activity while staying here.
The site sits on a well-connected road along the lake and offers straightforward access for visitors. It is worth noting that the lake shapes the area, and you can explore it on foot while experiencing both natural surroundings and architectural features.
