Strandbad Klagenfurt is a public lakeside bathing establishment on the eastern shore of Wörthersee in Klagenfurt, opened in 1924 and enlarged several times since. Its 1927 entrance hall and a cabin wing from the same period are protected monuments. The lake reaches its greatest width of 1.7 km here, in front of the Klagenfurt bay. The site is run by the Klagenfurt Stadtwerke.
Strandbad Klagenfurt opened in 1924 on the eastern shore of Wörthersee and has been expanded several times since. The entrance hall and a cabin wing built in 1927 are listed as protected monuments. The city utility Stadtwerke Klagenfurt operates the bath, which has hosted the Ironman Austria swim start since 1998.
The lido's name is used for the Ironman Austria swim start, held here since 1998. From 1998 until 2016 the A1 Beach Volleyball Grand Slam also took place on its grounds. The site is run by the Klagenfurt Stadtwerke, which also operates the nearby Loretto and Maiernigg baths.
The location is easy to access with parking available and facilities for visitors with limited mobility. Changing rooms, showers, and restrooms are provided, and lifeguards are on duty during the operating season.
The lake reaches its greatest width, 1.7 km, right off the Klagenfurt bay in front of the baths. Since 1998 the Ironman Austria swim leg has started here, and from 1927 the listed entrance hall and cabin wing have stood at the entrance.
