Schottenring 18–18a, Vienna

The building at Schottenring 18-18a is a monumental residential structure with rusticated arcades and stucco reliefs between pilasters on the mezzanine level. Windows are designed as aedicule windows and run across the full facade of this imposing construction.

Wilhelm Fraenkel designed this structure, which was built between 1870 and 1872 as part of Vienna's Ringstrasse development. The construction followed the major urban redesign of the city center during the 19th century.

The entrance gallery toward Börsegasse displays intricate grotesque paintings, while the staircases feature ornate cast-iron railings from the 19th century. These details show the taste and craftsmanship that went into this building.
