Wilhelm Fraenkel designed the Palais Schottenring, which was constructed between 1870 and 1872 as part of the development along Vienna's Ringstrasse boulevard.
The entrance gallery to Börsegasse contains detailed grotesque paintings, while the staircases display ornate cast-iron railings reflecting 19th-century architectural styles.
The Bank of China occupies the ground floor of the building, while residential apartments fill the upper levels with modern amenities and security services.
Four corner pavilions mark the structure's extremities, crowned by an attic balustrade and enhanced by corner risalits incorporating strategic balcony placements.
