Kravica

Kravica is a waterfall system on the Trebižat River that spans about 120 meters wide and drops roughly 28 meters into a natural pool-like basin. The limestone surroundings feature a distinctive rock formation that channels water into multiple smaller cascades.

The waterfall has been shaped by the Trebižat River over time and came under the management of Zaim-beg Selimić, a local figure from Ljubuški, in the modern era. This connection to local leadership helped establish it as an important landmark in the region.

Local people gather here to swim and cool off during warm months, treating it as a natural gathering place. The limestone setting creates a stage-like backdrop that draws visitors seeking connection with the water and landscape.

The site is easy to reach on foot with flat paths leading to the water and various viewpoints. Bring sun protection and wear sturdy shoes, as the limestone surfaces can be slippery and shade is limited.

The water flows through numerous tiny channels in the limestone formation, giving the falls their distinctive pattern of thin water threads. This complex water movement creates an ever-changing display depending on the river's flow.
