Vrelo Bune

Vrelo Bune is a natural karst spring where water emerges from beneath a towering limestone cliff face. The water flows immediately into the Buna River, which continues downstream through the region.

The spring has been flowing for millennia and shaped the landscape over time. A monastery was built at the cliff base in the 16th century and has remained connected to this water source ever since.

The place is named after the spring and holds deep meaning for Sufi communities who have gathered here for centuries. Visitors today can observe how water remains central to spiritual life at this location.

The site is easy to reach and open most days of the week. If you plan to explore the cliff paths and surrounding areas, wear comfortable walking shoes.

The water emerging from the depths maintains the same cold temperature throughout the year. This consistency is unusual among large natural springs across Europe.
