The Battle of the Frontiers was a series of battles fought along the Eastern border of France and in southern Belgium.
It took place in August 1914, during the first month of World War I.
The battle represented the clash of the French Plan XVII and the German Schlieffen Plan.
Today, various memorials and cemeteries can be visited to pay respect to those who fell in the battle.
It involved over two million troops and was one of the major confrontations at the beginning of WWI.
