Euro Space Center, Science center in Transinne, Belgium.

The Euro Space Center is a science center in Transinne housing multiple space flight simulators and micro-gravity experiences. At its heart stands a full-scale replica of the U.S. Space Shuttle named Amicitia, allowing visitors to explore the interior of an actual spacecraft.

The center was founded in 1991 as a response to growing interest in space exploration and European cooperation in this field. Over the following decades, it became a leading educational institution dedicated to space technologies and sciences.

The center maintains partnerships with the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office and European Space Agency to advance space education and research.

The center offers programs for both school groups and individual visitors, including simulations and specialized training sessions. Plan for several hours if you want to try multiple experiences, as many activities take considerable time to complete.

The facility houses the only European Martian village simulation, where visitors can experience what life on the red planet might be like. This special installation makes it one of the few places where you can imagine yourself in a future space colony.

Hidden places in Belgium

Belgium preserves numerous historical sites and natural areas that remain outside the usual tourist circuits. The country contains medieval fortifications, castles from various periods, and protected areas that provide insight into its military and cultural past. The Hallerbos forest transforms into a blue carpet of Atlantic bluebells each spring. Fort Eben-Emael, once considered impregnable, documents 20th-century military architecture. The prehistoric flint mines of Spiennes, a UNESCO World Heritage site, testify to 6,000 years of mining history. These locations combine natural heritage with historical evidence and offer visitors the opportunity to discover lesser-known aspects of Belgium.
