Church of Our Lady

The Church of Our Lady exhibits white limestone and brown ironstone layers in its construction, displaying the late 15th-century Demer gothic architectural style.

The church earned collegiate status under Anthony de Croÿ's leadership with thirteen canons serving until 1797, when French rule forced its closure.

The stone chancel rood screen features detailed relief sculptures depicting Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, crucifixion, and resurrection for medieval congregations.

Visitors can explore the church without admission fees from Monday to Saturday between 09:00 and 12:00, with Sunday hours from 09:00 to 10:40.

The church contains Jan Borchman's choir stalls and a wrought iron chandelier created by Quinten Massijs, representing medieval Belgian craftsmanship.
