Muziekbos, Nature area in Ronse, Belgium
Muziekbos is a woodland area covering more than 100 hectares on Muziekberg hill near Ronse with a network of walking paths throughout. The forest contains mature trees, natural clearings, and trails that wind through the entire landscape.
The Geuzentoren, a round tower made of ironstone, stands within the forest as a remnant of the area's past. Writers gave the region its name of Flemish Ardennes in 1888.
In spring, thousands of woodland hyacinths and other forest flowers carpet the ground with color. This natural flowering draws visitors from across the region.
A 9.7-kilometer walking route begins at the intersection of Kanarieberg and Ruddersveld, marked with trail node 92. Wear sturdy shoes and bring weather-appropriate clothing, as forest conditions can change with the seasons.
Within the forest stands the Ijsmolenhoeve, a 15th-century building now functioning as a brasserie with an outdoor terrace for walkers. This spot offers a chance to rest and enjoy a meal while exploring the woodland.
