Sint-Nicolaaskerk, Gothic parish church in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium
The Sint-Nicolaaskerk stands at the eastern side of the Grand Market Square with five naves and a tower built in Tournai bluestone.
The church originated in 1217 when Bishop Gosuinus of Tournai established an independent Saint Nicholas parish, separate from Waasmunster.
The interior contains seven altars and numerous artworks, including a baroque organ containing over 3000 pipes, making it the largest in Waasland.
The church maintains regular opening hours and welcomes visitors to explore its architectural features and religious artifacts throughout the week.
During the summer, the adjacent Saint Nicholas Square transforms into an entertainment venue with dance events on Wednesdays and concerts on Thursdays.
