Antoing Castle, Medieval castle in Antoing, Belgium

The stone fortress stands on the right bank of the Scheldt River, featuring high towers and Gothic Revival architectural elements from the 19th century.

The original wooden structure from the 10th century was replaced with stone fortifications in the 12th century by the castellan of Antoing.

The castle received visits from numerous nobles, including Philip the Good in 1464 and Charles the Bold in 1468 during the De Melun family ownership.

The castle operates as a private residence for the De Ligne family and opens its doors to visitors through guided tours on specific dates.

Between 1901 and 1914, the building functioned as a Jesuit college where future French president Charles de Gaulle studied.
