Oultremont Castle

The fortified structure on this site originated in the 15th century and belonged to the Warnant family before passing into the hands of the Oultremont lineage. This transition shows how properties shifted among local noble families over time.

The castle shows how noble families in the Liège region adapted their homes over time as defensive needs changed. The building reflects the way architecture evolved to match new ways of living and protecting estates.

The castle can be reached via the N64 road from Villers-le-Bouillet, with parking available near the entrance to the grounds. Its elevated position makes it easy to locate and approach from the surrounding area.

The structure incorporates stones from the local Pierreumont quarry, creating a direct geographical connection between the building and its surrounding landscape. This choice of materials gives the site an authentic local character.
