Kasteel de Lovie

Kasteel de Lovie is a neoclassical castle in Poperinge defined by symmetrical architecture with tall windows and a central entrance framed by stone columns. The building sits within extensive grounds that include manicured gardens and green spaces.

The castle was built in 1856 for Jules van Merris, designed by architect Pierre Nicolas Croquison. During the First World War it served as a command center for military operations in the region.
