The Florival Abbey complex includes multiple structures arranged around a central courtyard, with stone walls and traditional monastic architecture.
Founded between 1214 and 1218 by Bartholomé Lanio, the abbey initially housed Benedictine nuns before becoming a Cistercian community.
The monastery functioned as an educational center for women in the region while maintaining agricultural production and religious practices.
The former abbey buildings now serve as the Federal Training Center for Emergency Services, located on a street bearing the abbey's name.
During periods of conflict in the 16th century, the entire religious community evacuated the abbey and remained in exile until the early 17th century.
