Park Schaveys

Park Schaveys extends across 55 hectares of land, containing deciduous forests, coniferous woods, orchards, meadows, and water sources that support multiple ecosystems.

The park's name originates from Hof te Schavei, a farmhouse established in 1100, which the Van Aa family sold to Hendrik Van Witthem in 1482.

The grounds feature designated spaces for community gatherings, local events, and traditional activities that maintain social connections among residents from both municipalities.

Several paved paths accommodate wheelchair users throughout the park, while bus services stop within 750 meters of the entrance for convenient public transport access.

The Research Institute for Nature and Forest operates a center within the park dedicated to studying sustainable breeding methods for sensitive fish species.
