Groene Delle

Groene Delle is a nature reserve situated between Hasselt and Lummen, covering a large area that includes a lake formed from earth extraction activities. Marked walking paths circle the central lake and provide multiple spots for observing the surrounding landscape.

The site connects to forests linked to a castle built in the 19th century, and includes an old road from the 18th century that once served as a trade route. This path formerly connected two nearby settlements.

The name Delle refers to a natural depression in the landscape, and visitors often walk through the oak and birch forests that frame the reserve. Local people use this space to connect with nature and observe wildlife.
