Kasteel Calmont, Historic château in Ruien, Kluisbergen, Belgium.
The white plastered château stands with a service building and coach house, connected through an archway on a hill near Kluisberg.
The original castle belonged to the Merode family until 1813, when French army officer Jean-Pierre Behaghel purchased and reconstructed it in Empire style.
The castle grounds contain six burial mounds from the second century, excavated in 1907, representing ancient regional burial practices.
The estate features two access points: a main entrance through a linden avenue from Knoktstraat and a secondary beech avenue entrance.
During World War II, German forces used the property to store V1 rockets, leading to its destruction in 1944 when retreating troops detonated remaining ammunition.
