Park Nieuwe Koers

Park Nieuwe Koers extends across 13 hectares, featuring open grasslands, a concrete platform for events, and dedicated areas for community activities.

The establishment of Park Nieuwe Koers transformed the western side of Ostend by introducing substantial green spaces in an area that previously lacked neighborhood parks.

The park integrates multiple facilities, including the Space Science Centre Astropolis, which offers stargazing opportunities and interactive space exhibitions.

Visitors can access barbecue facilities, picnic benches, and a 1.5-kilometer bicycle path that connects to surrounding neighborhoods and existing cycling routes.

The park contains 75 trees from 11 different species and more than 10,300 shrubs from seven varieties, creating a diverse natural environment.
