Sea Garden, Urban park in Burgas, Bulgaria.
Sea Garden is an urban park in Burgas, running along the Black Sea coast with walking paths, sculptures, and botanical plantings. It also contains a summer theatre, a marine casino, and a greenhouse with exotic plant collections.
Around 1910, architect Georgi Duhtev transformed a swampy coastal strip into an organized park, bringing in plant varieties from many parts of the world. The project was part of a wider effort to modernize Burgas during the early 20th century.
Every summer, the park hosts a Sand Sculpture Festival near the seafront, where artists from across Europe build large figures directly on the beach. The works stay on display for several weeks and can be visited without any entrance fee.
The park is easy to reach on foot from Bogoridi Street, where a terrace looks out over the sea, the pier, and the port. The paths are flat and well laid out, so visitors can walk through at their own pace without any particular plan.
The Flora greenhouse inside the park displays plants from tropical and desert regions, which is unusual for a public park on the Bulgarian coast. It is one of the few facilities of this kind open to visitors in the area.
