Dupnitsa

Dupnitsa is a city nestled at the foot of the Rila Mountains, spread across hilly terrain and lined with tree-covered streets. The landscape combines older residential buildings with newer structures arranged along main roads.

The settlement originates from Roman times and went through several name changes before taking its current designation after Bulgaria's liberation. This extended past left multiple layers of influence in the region.

A large illuminated cross sits on a hilltop overlooking the town, creating a striking landmark visible at night. Nearby stand the remains of a medieval fortress that once guarded the area.
