Sofia Zoo

Sofia Zoo is a large urban park divided into different sections, each housing various animal species in specially designed environments. The facility includes aquatic areas, terrestrial zones, and other specialized habitats to accommodate different animal needs.

The zoo began in the late 1800s as a modest bird collection near the royal palace before developing into a much larger facility. Over time it relocated and expanded to become the extensive park it is today.

The park can be entered from two different locations, making it convenient to access from various directions. The pathways inside are well-organized, allowing visitors to navigate easily and plan their route through different sections.

An aquarium section displays numerous fish species in specialized tanks alongside colorful corals and other marine life. Among these residents is an exceptionally rare fish species that visitors seldom encounter anywhere else.
