Ravadinovo, village of Bulgaria
Ravadinovo is a small village in Bulgaria located near Sozopol and just a short distance from the Black Sea coast. The village sits across about 27 square kilometers of hilly terrain with forests and fields, where traditional Bulgarian houses with tiled roofs and small gardens line the quiet streets.
The village was founded in 1913 when Bulgarian refugees from Eastern and Western Thrace arrived to begin new lives after difficult times in their home regions. This settlement by displaced peoples shaped the village's identity and its gradual development over the following generations.
Ravadinovo's name comes from the Bulgarian refugees who settled here in 1913 and founded the village. The community gathers for local festivals and celebrations that keep traditional customs alive through music, food, and seasonal gatherings.
The village is connected by small roads to nearby towns and the coast, and can be easily explored on foot thanks to its small size. Most visitors arrive by car, as there are no large bus services, making visits naturally relaxed and unhurried.
Near the village stands a fairytale castle called 'In Love with the Wind', built in 1996 and covered in green ivy. The castle features a park with fountains, waterfalls, and a lake with swans, adding a touch of fantasy to the peaceful rural surroundings.
