Vladimir Zaimov park, Urban park in Oborishte District, Sofia, Bulgaria.
Vladimir Zaimov Park is an urban green space in the Oborishte district of Sofia, Bulgaria, situated between Yanko Sakazov Boulevard and Krakra Street. It has paved walkways, open lawns, tennis courts, table tennis tables, outdoor fitness equipment, and a central fountain.
The park was laid out in the mid-20th century and named after General Vladimir Zaimov, a Bulgarian military officer known for his anti-fascist activities. The central fountain and other structures from that period are still in place today.
The park is home to two theaters: the Sofia Drama Theater and the Sfumato Theater Workshop, both of which hold regular performances. On evenings before a show, the area around the theater entrances fills with people from the neighborhood.
The park is free to enter and offers free wireless internet across the grounds. Sports areas are spread throughout, so it is easy to come across a tennis court or a fitness station as you walk around.
In 2013, a structure called the Fairy House was added to the park, featuring a moving stage where characters from classic fairy tales perform for children. It is one of the few open-air setups of its kind in Sofia.
