The museum occupies two sections on the fifth floor of Sofia University's North Wing, displaying over 150,000 specimens of fossils and geological materials.
Professor Georgi Zlatarski established the museum in 1897, initiating the collection with paleontological specimens that formed the foundation of geological studies in Bulgaria.
The museum functions as an educational center where university students and researchers examine specimens dating from different geological eras of Earth's development.
Located at 15 Tzar Osvoboditel Boulevard, the museum welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The entrance features a restored Deinotherium thraciensis skeleton discovered in 1965, preserved at over 90 percent completion.
