Slava, Soviet submarine museum in Beloslav, Bulgaria.
The Slava is a Soviet-era submarine museum vessel in Beloslav along the Danube River. Its hull contains multiple compartments with original equipment and restored spaces that show different operational areas and crew sections.
The vessel was built in 1959 in the Soviet Union and originally sailed as Leninski Komsomol. In 1991, it transferred to the Bulgarian Navy and was renamed Slava.
The submarine shows how crews lived and worked during Cold War operations. Visitors walk through tight quarters, kitchens, and command areas that reveal the daily routines of sailors.
The museum has easy access points with entrances on deck and internal stairs connecting the sections. The spaces are tight and stairs are frequent, so wear comfortable shoes and plan for slow movement through narrow passages.
When launched in 1959, this submarine was the first Soviet vessel to reach the North Pole. A plaque inside records this achievement and shows how advanced Soviet naval engineering was at the time.
