Alibotoush is a nature reserve in the Slavyanka mountain range with forests, alpine meadows, and streams across different elevations. The terrain shifts between dense woodlands and open slopes, creating varied environments for walking and exploration.
The Bulgarian government established this reserve in 1951, and UNESCO recognized it as a Biosphere Reserve in 1977 for its ecological value. This designation marked its importance as a protected natural area in the country.
