Santa Catarina's Historical Museum

The Santa Catarina's Historical Museum occupies the neoclassical Cruz e Sousa Palace, featuring marble staircases and extensive Art Nouveau window panels throughout the building.

Founded in 1979, the museum preserves documents, furniture, and artifacts that illustrate the development of Santa Catarina state from its early settlements through modern times.

The museum displays a collection of nineteenth-century furniture, regional artworks, and historical documents that represent the social evolution of Santa Catarina society.

Located at Praça XV de Novembro 227, the museum welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and weekends from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The museum building contains a white Carrara marble staircase and maintains original architectural elements from its time as the state government headquarters.
