Paraíso Perdido Park, Recreation park in Caucaia, Brazil
Paraiso Perdido Park was a recreation facility covering around 46,000 square meters that combined water attractions with a zoological garden. The zoo housed approximately 600 animals from various countries within the park grounds.
The facility opened in 2000 and merged aquatic attractions with animal displays at a location near Icarai Beach. Brazilian environmental authorities ordered its closure in 2006 after concerns emerged about animal care and missing environmental permits.
The park drew families with adventure-focused entertainment including mechanical bull riding and balance bridges set among natural vegetation.
The park has been closed to the public since 2006 and no visitor attractions are currently available at the site. The former location is situated near Fortaleza and was originally designed for day-trip family visits.
A distinctive feature allowed visitors to view dangerous animals such as lions, tigers, and jaguars through below-ground enclosures without traditional cage barriers. This design approach provided unobstructed viewing of the creatures while eliminating conventional separation methods.
