Republican Scientific Medical Library

The Republican Scientific Medical Library is a research facility in Minsk that serves medical professionals and scholars. It holds over 900,000 documents including books, journals, dissertations, and digital resources available in multiple languages.

The library was established in 1940 under Soviet orders, but its initial collection was lost during World War II. Operations resumed in 1944 and the institution has grown since then.

The museum section displays the history of medicine in Belarus through exhibits and historical documents. Visitors can see how medical practice evolved in the country over time.

Researchers and professionals can access both printed materials and digital databases at the facility. The library is equipped with computer terminals to help users find and access electronic resources.

Since 1995, the library serves as the World Health Organization documentation center for Belarus. This role makes it the primary hub for distributing medical information and international health data throughout the country.
