Cathedral of the Holy Name of Saint Virgin Mary, Baroque Catholic cathedral in Upper City, Minsk, Belarus.

The Cathedral of the Holy Name of Saint Virgin Mary is a Baroque church in Minsk's Upper City featuring two symmetrical towers flanking its entrance and ornate architectural details throughout. Inside, an Austrian-made organ installed in 2005 contributes to the church's classical Baroque character.

The church was founded in 1710 as part of the Jesuit College and served as an important religious center for the city. During the Soviet era the building was repurposed, but a major restoration in the 1990s returned it to its original function.

This cathedral serves as the main Roman Catholic church in Belarus and hosts regular services that reflect the country's Catholic traditions. Inside, visitors encounter 18th-century religious frescoes that remain part of the active worship space.

The cathedral is open daily to visitors and offers guided tours in multiple languages. Access is straightforward and visiting allows you to explore the Baroque interior and see the historical artworks.

The original bell towers were destroyed by artillery fire during World War II, but were later completely reconstructed during the restoration work of the 1990s. This fate mirrors the turbulent history that shaped both the building and the city.
