École supérieure de musique G. Shirma de Brest

The G. Shirma Music College is an educational institution on Gogol Street that teaches instrumental performance, conducting, and musical theory. The building houses multiple teaching studios and a performance hall where students present their work.

The college was founded in December 1939 as the first music education institution in Western Belarus. After wartime destruction, it resumed teaching in September 1944.

The college is a place where classical music and local traditions remain active in the community. Visitors can attend performances by the orchestras and choirs that rehearse and perform regularly throughout the year.

The college is located in the city center and is easily accessible on foot. Visitors should note that access may be limited during classes or rehearsals.

The college established a children's music school in 1993 to introduce younger students to music earlier in their education. Since then it has trained over 4000 music professionals who work throughout Belarus and beyond.
