Brossard, Suburban municipality in Greater Montreal, Canada
Brossard is a residential town on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River comprising neighborhoods and shopping districts. The main commercial strip runs along Taschereau Boulevard, where most businesses and services are located for residents.
The town was founded in 1958 through the merging of two earlier municipalities. This creation launched the development of a new suburban community.
The community is shaped by Chinese, Arab, Black, and South Asian residents who bring their traditions to local shops and streets. You'll hear different languages spoken daily and find restaurants and businesses reflecting this cultural mix.
The Champlain Bridge connects the town directly to Montreal and makes it easily accessible. Streets are well-organized for both driving and walking around the main commercial areas.
The DIX30 district, developed in the 2000s, blends shopping, dining, and entertainment with residential units in one area. This mixed-use design made it a gathering spot for leisure and daily routines.
