Domaine Forget, Cultural academy and festival center in Saint-Irénée, Canada
Domaine Forget is an educational facility and performance center situated on 100 acres along the Saint Lawrence River in Quebec. The property includes a 600-seat concert hall with professional acoustics, teaching buildings, and residential spaces for students and faculty.
The property originated from three separate estates developed by prominent Canadians in the early 1900s. In 1945, the Sisters of the Little Franciscans of Mary took over the land and established it as an educational organization.
The site draws music lovers from around the world each summer for concerts, masterclasses, and performances spanning classical music, jazz, and dance. These events shape the region's cultural life and create a gathering place where artists and students meet.
The grounds are easily accessible with ample parking for visitors attending concerts or classes. Arriving early helps you secure a good seat and explore the property before events begin.
The center was the first facility of its kind outside Europe to earn recognition as a Cultural Encounter Center from the European organization ACCR. This distinction highlights its importance for international cultural exchange and musician training.
