EXcentris, Digital arts center in Montreal, Canada
The three-screen complex on Saint-Laurent Boulevard occupies 70,000 square feet of space dedicated to digital media production and film screenings.
Daniel Langlois established the center in June 1999 with an initial construction investment of 6.2 million Canadian dollars and support from various funding agencies.
The center functioned as Montreal's primary venue for independent cinema, offering screening spaces for experimental films and supporting local film productions.
The facility included multiple meeting rooms configured for different arrangements, complete with audiovisual equipment and onsite catering services.
The center operated under Cinéma Parallèle, maintaining its position as Montreal's sole alternative to commercial film distribution until its closure in 2015.
