Monastère du Bon-Pasteur

The Monastère du Bon-Pasteur features a central block with three perpendicular wings, forming E and F shapes, and includes a stone base with three floors.

The Sisters of Notre-Dame du Bon Pasteur established this monastery in 1846, which served as a refuge during the typhus epidemic of 1847 and cholera outbreak of 1849.

The monastery chapel, transformed into a concert venue in 1987, hosts classical music performances and contains a Fazioli piano and a 1772 Kirckman harpsichord.

Located at 52-104 Sherbrooke Street East in Montreal, this multipurpose complex now contains offices, a retirement residence, private apartments, and a cultural center.

A major fire in May 2023 affected the chapel structure, requiring extensive firefighting efforts and leading to the relocation of musical instruments, including a 250-year-old harpsichord.
