Mount Royal, Federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada
Mount Royal is a federal electoral district in western Montreal, Quebec that encompasses several communities and neighborhoods. The riding covers the town that gives it its name, alongside the municipalities of Côte Saint-Luc and Hampstead, plus sections of established residential areas.
The electoral district was formed in 1924 from portions of three older ridings. This reconfiguration created the current boundaries that have remained largely stable since that time.
Population statistics from 2016 indicate a diverse demographic composition with English speakers at 31.5%, French speakers at 25.1%, and a Jewish community at 21.3%.
Voters can access information about elections and candidates through official municipal resources and websites. These platforms provide details about voting locations, representatives, and scheduled public meetings in the area.
Since 1940 this riding has been controlled by the Liberal Party of Canada with only three competitive election campaigns. This political consistency over many decades makes it one of Canada's most reliable electoral territories.
