Île Bigras, River island in Quebec, Canada
Île Bigras is the largest of four islands in the Îles-Laval archipelago, sitting in the waters of the Rivière des Prairies. The island provides access to a train station that connects the area to the city.
The island received its current name in 1890 when Émilien Bigras purchased the property. This name replaced the earlier designation Île Amesse, which had been in use since 1817.
This island forms an essential part of the Îles-Laval territory, which became integrated into the municipality of Laval in 1965.
The island is reachable by train via the Deux-Montagnes line, which offers a quick connection to central parts of the city. A park and ride lot at the train station makes it easy for visitors arriving by car.
The island maintains direct access to multiple water bodies while offering a park and ride facility near its train station.
