Awenda Provincial Park

Awenda Provincial Park is a large protected area along Georgian Bay's shore featuring dense forests, hiking trails, and a lake for water activities. The park offers camping options including spots for RVs and tents throughout its land.

The park was created in 1975 to protect the natural environment and geological features of the Georgian Bay region. This action was part of efforts to preserve wild lands across Ontario.

Summer programs here teach visitors about local wildlife and natural habitats through guided activities and presentations. These sessions help people understand how the landscape shapes life in the region.

The park has more than 30 kilometers of marked hiking trails winding through different areas. Wear sturdy boots and check weather conditions before heading out on the paths.

In winter, several trails become backcountry skiing routes, letting people explore the park in a completely different way. This transforms the landscape into a winter sports destination from early in the season.
