Port Elgin and North Shore Railroad, Tourist trackless train in Port Elgin, Canada.

The Port Elgin and North Shore Railroad is a trackless train that carries visitors through North Shore Park alongside the waterfront. It winds through the scenic area while offering views of the harbor and surrounding landscapes.

Local tool maker Doug Schlenker built the original miniature railway in 1971 with a 16-inch (40 cm) gauge. After being sold to Collingwood in 1978, it was later rebuilt with a wider track system of 24-inch (60 cm) gauge.

The railroad remains a symbol of Port Elgin's recreational heritage, connecting residents and tourists with the waterfront through scheduled seasonal excursions.

Each ride takes about 20 minutes to complete the full route. Service runs daily from June 20 through September, with weekend trips in early June and throughout the season.

The current track with 60 cm (24 inches) gauge is quite different from the original narrow-gauge design, allowing for a more comfortable ride experience. The route extends to beach access, which sets it apart from typical park attractions.
