Southwood Secondary School

Southwood Secondary School is an educational facility for grades 9 through 12 located on the west side of Galt-Cambridge, serving students from West Galt and North Dumfries. The building on Southwood Drive functions as a comprehensive secondary education center for pupils from both urban and rural areas.

The school opened in 1962 under the administration of the Waterloo Region District School Board. It was established to meet the growing secondary education needs of the West Galt community and surrounding areas.

The school carries the motto 'Nihil Sine Labore' and represents itself through the Southwood Sabres athletic teams in red, green, and white. These colors and the team name shape the identity that students and families recognize in the community.
