Vivanext

Vivanext is a rapid transit bus system operating on dedicated lanes along Highway 7 in York Region communities including Vaughan, Markham, and Richmond Hill. The network connects key destinations such as York University, Markham Stouffville Hospital, and major shopping centers with frequent service throughout the day.

The system began operations in 2005, introducing rapid transit service to York Region for the first time. Dedicated bus lanes and specialized station designs were built to provide faster connections across the corridor.

The system connects major institutions including York University Markham campus, Markham Stouffville Hospital, and Vaughan Mills Mall through integrated transit routes.

Riders board at color-coded Vivastations equipped with ticket machines and digital displays showing arrival times in real time. Service operates from early morning through late evening across the three main communities.

Specialized intersection designs automatically give priority to transit vehicles at traffic lights, reducing overall journey times compared to regular bus routes. This signal technology allows buses to pass through congested areas more efficiently.
