NDHQ Carling, originally Carling Campus, occupies 148.79 hectares at Carling Avenue and Moodie Drive in Ottawa's west end. Its 11 interconnected buildings provide 207,000 square metres of space and house National Defence Headquarters, consolidating about 8,500 personnel. The site includes sports fields, a fitness centre and parking for 5,925 cars.

The site began as a research center in the 1960s and later became a hub for telecommunications technology development. Over several decades it evolved into a major regional employer before eventually shifting to government administrative use.

The complex represents a shift in Ottawa's identity from a government center to a technological research hub during the late 20th century.

The campus sits at the intersection of Carling Avenue and Moodie Drive, about 1 km north of Highway 417. OC Transpo routes 57, 58 and 66 serve the site. Parking is scarce: 5,925 spaces, including a 480-car parkade, and in 2019 DND resorted to a lottery for employee spots. Canada geese nest on the grounds, so watch for them near the sports fields.

Electronic surveillance devices were discovered within the campus buildings in 2013, raising questions about industrial espionage during the Nortel period.
