Wesley Clover Parks is a year-round outdoor recreation facility on the western edge of Ottawa, with grounds that cover camping areas, ski trails, mountain biking paths, equestrian facilities, and soccer fields. The site also runs instructional programs tied to several of its activities, making it a place where people can both practice and learn.
The land was originally a municipal campground before it was redeveloped into a multi-season facility with a much wider range of uses. That shift changed the character of the place entirely, turning a simple camping area into a year-round destination.
The riding school on the grounds draws people from across the Ottawa region who are interested in horsemanship, and horses can often be seen on the paddocks during a visit. The equestrian side of the park gives it a feel that sets it apart from a typical city park.
The park is west of downtown Ottawa and is easiest to reach by car, as public transit options in that area are limited. Since activities change with the seasons, it helps to check what is currently available before heading out.
