Nepean Sailing Club, Sailing club in Ottawa, Canada
Nepean Sailing Club is a sailing facility on Lac Deschênes with docking and mooring systems for more than 500 boats. The property features a 300-meter breakwater and is located along Carling Avenue.
The club was established in 1979 with 350 founding members and has grown significantly over the decades. It developed into a major center for sailing activities in the region.
The club serves as a gathering place where sailors connect with each other through regular races and training sessions. Community participation shapes daily life here, with fleet competitions and events that bring together people of different skills and ages.
Access is available to members from mid-April through late October, with programs running throughout the summer season. Most activities and events take place during this time frame.
The club operates an Able Sail program using its fleet of Martin 16 boats to enable people with disabilities to participate in water activities. Trained volunteers provide regular support and assistance to program participants.
