Ohsweken Speedway
Ohsweken Speedway is a dirt racing track in Ontario, Canada, with an oval shape and four turns banked at 15 degrees that help cars navigate the corners smoothly. The facility holds more than 8,000 spectators and features floodlights that allow races to take place in the evening.
The speedway was founded in 1996 by Glenn Styres, a racing driver from the Styres family who owned the land. Since its opening, the facility has grown continuously, expanding seating and amenities, with floodlights added in 2008.
The speedway is a gathering place for the local community where families and friends come together to experience the thrill of racing. Many of the drivers and spectators are from nearby communities, and racing helps build a sense of belonging and shared excitement among them.
Most visitors arrive by car, and parking is available near the venue. It is advisable to arrive early to secure good seats and enjoy the full experience, as race nights can run late into the evening.
The speedway has gained popularity and capacity in recent years and now attracts the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, one of North America's premier racing series. The venue has evolved from a local racing spot into a regional hub for sprint car racing.
