Old Newmarket Town Hall and Courthouse

The Old Town Hall and Courthouse building features Italianate architectural elements with brick construction and stands prominently on Botsford Street in downtown Newmarket.

The municipal structure, designed by Mallory & Sons and initiated by Mayor William Cane, opened its doors on July 1, 1883 to serve multiple government functions.

The building now functions as a cultural center with spaces for theater performances, art exhibitions, music events, and community gatherings throughout the year.

Visitors can access the venue through the main entrance at 460 Botsford Street, where the facility includes an elevator, modern theater, and meeting rooms.

A new glass atrium extension connects the historical structure with contemporary additions while maintaining the original architectural character of the 1883 building.
