Fashion History Museum, Fashion museum in Cambridge, Canada
The Fashion History Museum displays over 10,000 garments, textiles, and accessories spanning from the late 18th century to contemporary fashion designs in a restored 1929 post office building.
Founded in 2004 by Jonathan Walford and Kenn Norman, the museum received federal incorporation as a non-profit organization in 2009 before establishing its permanent location in 2015.
The museum organizes exhibitions highlighting different fashion eras, including the current '300 Years of Fashion' showcase featuring forty examples of changing silhouettes from 1720 to 2020.
Located at 74 Queen Street East in Cambridge, Ontario, the museum welcomes visitors Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM with admission fees of $12 for adults.
The collection includes what might be North America's oldest European shoe, dating to approximately 1660 and reportedly worn in New Amsterdam, now known as New York.
